Our dementia care is the perfect choice for those living with dementia and we take great pride in the quality of our offering. Our team of highly experienced and well-trained staff treats every resident as an individual and develops a tailored care package that is specially designed for their needs. The Mayfield’s environment is safe, secure and has been designed to support the wellbeing of those living with dementia.
Key to our approach to dementia care is understanding and respect. Each of our residents has a Key Worker who builds strong and supportive relationships with them. The resident’s Key Worker will understand their views, choices, likes and dislikes, and will support their independence and participation in activities they enjoy. The Key Worker is also instrumental in ensuring care plans are an up-to-date reflection of a resident’s care needs as they may evolve over time.
Critical to being able to provide high-quality dementia care is the team of people providing it. Our team members have been handpicked based on our values – compassion, thoughtfulness, integrity, and excellence – and we believe these are essential to the proper provision of exceptional dementia care.
Our whole team has received comprehensive dementia training, and further training is delivered on a regular basis to ensure top quality standards. Our staff numbers are high, well above regulatory requirements, and this enables our experienced team to spend lots of time with our residents.
The Mayfield Care Home has been thoughtfully designed to safely support those living with dementia. Everything from the colour schemes, lighting levels and sources, materials, and spaces have been designed for those living with dementia. There is an abundance of beautiful communal spaces for residents to take part in group activities, or enjoy alone, as well as independent access to our stunning gardens.
A sense of familiarity is often important for those living with dementia and residents are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms with their own belongings, pictures, and furniture.
