Questions we get asked

  • Our single weekly fee covers everything. Hair styling, manicures, newspapers, physio, trips to the beach, family for dinner, movies in our cinema. Everything is included.

  • The Mayfield offers later life residential and dementia care, as well as respite care for those who wish to join us for a short break.

  • The Mayfield's state-of-the-art facilities will include a cinema, hair & beauty salon, libraries, landscaped gardens, garden rooms, and a wide range of beautiful communal spaces.

  • Yes. There is a Lidl and Spar at the Shell petrol station very close by.

  • Yes. The Mayfield will be our residents' home and they will be encouraged to actively contribute to the running of the home. There will be regular meetings for residents and relatives but our management team will always be on hand to discuss how things can be done differently.

  • We will take pride in the quality of our person-centred care which can be modified as quickly as your needs change.

  • Yes. We will make sure we fully understand your dietary requirements when you move into The Mayfield. Our chefs will be highly experienced and fully trained in textured modified diets.

  • Yes. Residents are encouraged to make their rooms feel as homely and familiar as possible. Small items such as photos and ornaments are fine to bring in but please speak to our General Manager about large items before you bring them in.

  • We will arrange a wide variety of activities, all based on our residents wants and needs. For example, gardening, arts & crafts, baking, shopping, walks on the beach. You name it - we will try and make it happen!

  • Normally visitors are welcome at any time. We encourage friends and family to come and visit their loved ones, over a meal or cup of tea.

  • You may be able to bring your pet to The Mayfield but please discuss this with the General Manager in advance.

  • Yes. Our team members will respect and support your religious beliefs and we will do our best to help you continue to visit your place of worship.

  • They can, provided The Mayfield is within their catchment area. If not, we have excellent relationships with our local surgeries and can support you to register with them. We can also support you with any new registration needed for a dentist and offer optical services, provided in-house by our nominated company, should you require them.

  • Yes. All our rooms are fitted with an emergency call system.

  • If necessary, fees will increase in April each year to cover cost inflation.

  • Total contents for each resident will be covered for loss or damage up to a value of £1,000. If a resident wants to insure their items for more than this value then it must be arranged separately.

  • During the move in process we will ask for details of your financial resources that will be used to fund your stay.

  • We will be registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England.
