Fun Times at The Mayfield
We’ve had another busy week at The Mayfield with lots going on.
Local artist and relative of one of our residents, Hilary Thorpe, came in for another great arts and crafts session. We had fun making greetings cards inspired by Matisse collages, with lots of wonderful colours and shapes. Being creative in later life can have huge benefits both for mental well-being and overall quality of life and we are very lucky to have a lady of Hilary’s talent leading these sessions so well!
It was a mixed week for the weather (to say the least!) and in between the rain showers we managed to squeeze in a visit to Sneaton Castle. It was a beautiful afternoon and we had a lovely walk around the grounds before enjoying a glass of wine, cuppa, and cake! We look forward to visiting again soon.
On Friday, Nadia Bentley came in for her weekly Seated Aerobics class. This has become very popular with our residents and, again, is brilliant for those in later life with many mobility, social and well-being benefits.
There were lots of other things going on at The Mayfield in the week with quizzes, Tai Chi, and movies in our cinema, amongst other activities.
We are delighted that several new members of staff joined us in the last couple of weeks. They are all settling in well and we are enjoying getting to know them.
