We had our first “pop-up restaurant” at The Mayfield last week, a themed evening chosen by our residents. The theme this time was Chinese and in the days leading up to the event, our residents and team had fun decorating our home with lots of lovely Chinese lanterns.
Our residents invited their family and friends to the evening and there was a wonderful atmosphere, complete with some Chinese music!
After drinks, we sat down to an amazing Chinese meal prepared by our Head Chef. Some of the delights on offer for the main course were Tempura Chicken in Plum Sauce, Hoisin Duck Wraps, Kung Po Pork, Egg Fried Rice, and Prawn Crackers. This was followed by a delicious dessert of Spiced Steamed Pears & Goji Berries, with ice cream. The food went down extremely well, and our Head Chef was given a hearty round of applause!
After the meal we sat up chatting, listening to music, and generally having a lovely time.
We are very much looking forward to our next pop-up restaurant in two weeks’ time, which will be Inidan-themed. Our residents are very welcome to invite their family and friends, and we look forward to seeing them then.
A big thank you to everyone who came and to our brilliant team for the wonderful hospitality provided!
